The Design and Technology Teachers’ Association Queensland (DATTA QLD) exists to serve our members, Queensland Design and Technology teachers by providing professional development and networking to support the delivery of high quality, evidence-based pedagogy, and curriculum-aligned teaching and learning.

Deirdre is an inspiring educator who has made a significant impact in Design and Technology education in just two and a half years. Transitioning from a successful 20-year career in architecture, Deirdre brings real-world experience and passion to her role at Parklands Christian College.
Rory Johanson is an experienced Design and Technology teacher who joined the DATTA Qld committee in 2023 after attending his first DATTA Qld conference. Rory is passionate about providing engaging and effective learning experiences for his students, and he shares his expertise and resources to support other teachers in the field.
Stephen Anderson is a dedicated Design and Technology teacher with a unique journey in education. After graduating in 1990 and teaching for two years, he ventured into small business ownership before returning to teaching in 2017.
Jamie Lay is a passionate STEMx and Industrial Design Technology teacher at Ferny Grove State High School, bringing innovation and enthusiasm to the classroom. With four years of teaching experience and three years as a DATTA Qld committee member, Jamie serves as the Student Engagement Officer.
Andrew Devoy, a distinguished educator who has dedicated over three decades to Design and Technology education. With an impressive career spanning nearly 20 years at Marist College Ashgrove and a wealth of experience across multiple prestigious schools, Andrew has become a cornerstone of technological education in Queensland.
